Forward looking camera
Why didn´t anyone think of this earlier? Everyone laughed at Google Glass until the point that they dropped it (for now). But they had one thing right: eyes on the road. While operating Glass, you don't have to worry that you bump into a tree or another digital citizen.
Also: A lot of cars these days are equipped with a rearview camera that prevents a lot of children and garbage cans being run over. Smart!
Since most ordinary people operate their phones in a rather horizontal way, none of the already present cameras have the right angle to inform their owners of impending danger. Of course we could create some hinged or insane swiveled camera, but lets face it: we all want a monolithic black slab of phone without any moveable parts lest there be all kinds of wear and tear (and smear) that greatly reduces the lifespan of said phone.
Enter the forward facing camera. It's not a new concept. But it should work wonders in road safety. Please phone vendors, include this in your next flagships! A living phone owner is a buying phone owner!
